Enabling two-factor authentication on your account
Overview
Learn how to enable two-factor authentication on your Notiform account, and keep your data safe.
How does it work?
Adding two factor authentication (2FA) to your Notiform account adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring an extra one-time code when logging in along side your regular password.
This stops stolen password and password phishing scams as your account cannot be accessed without your 2FA one-time generated code.
Each time you login to your Notiform account we will ask you for this one-time code, that only you can see through an app on your mobile device. This code is 6 digits and changes every 60 seconds.
Prerequitsites
Before getting started you will need to make sure you have a compatible authenticator app on your mobile device.
We recommend one of the following apps which are available on both iOS and Android:
- Apple Passwords
- Microsoft Authenticator
- Google Authenticator
- Authy
- Lastpass
Enable 2FA
- Head to your My Account page by clicking your profile icon in the top right corner of any page on the Notiform platform and then click My Account
- Click Enable 2FA then click Get started
- Open your authenticator application, and scan the QR code that has been generated on Notiform.
Scanning the QR Code to add Notiform to your authenticator app will be slightly different depending on which one you use. If you need help with this part, try looking up the documentation for the app you have chosen.
- Once you have scanned the QR code and your app has started generating one-time codes, click Next on Notiform
- Enter the current one-time code from your authenticator app into the confirmation code input then click Confirm
- You should now have confirmation of your 2FA setup on your account ✅
Troubleshooting
Can't scan the QR code?
If you're having issues scanning the QR code you can type in a generated code. Just click Can’t scan the QR code? below the QR code to view it, and type into your Authenticator app. The rest of the steps will then be the same.
